NagaCorp Limited “on schedule” in Russia after overcoming construction delay

After earlier reporting that construction on its Seaside Entertainment Resorts City in Russia’s Primorsky Krai region had been delayed due to workers unexpectedly unearthing some archaeological finds, Cambodian casino operator NagaCorp Limited has now announced that the $350 million complex is “on schedule” to open in the summer of 2018.
Hong Kong-listed NagaCorp Limited is the firm behind the NagaWorld gaming resort in Phnom Penh and broke ground on its Russian facility some 24 miles north of Vladivostok in late-May of last year.
“Russia is still going forward on schedule and we anticipate it would open in the summer of 2018,” Tim McNally, Chairman for NagaCorp told GGRAsia. “In Russia we are completing the pilings process and the construction crews [of] China Harbour Engineering Company Limited are on location and they are going to proceed with construction.”
NagaCorp Limited, which reported a 24% increase year-on-year in first-half net profit to $125.18 million in August, explained that it hoped to start work on the above-ground portion of its Seaside Entertainment Resorts City imminently and anticipates the facility eventually offering some 500 slots alongside 100 gaming tables.
“It took us some time just to work through the standard local building requirements in Primorsky [Krai],” McNally told GGRAsia. “We now have all the permits that are required and we are actually in the building phase. Right now we are pretty much on schedule.”
One of four regions in Russia where casino gambling is legal, Primorsky Krai already features the Tigre De Cristal development from G1 Entertainment while the $900 million Selena World Resort And Casino from Diamond Fortune Holdings could join the Seaside Entertainment Resorts City in opening in 2018.
